Two large and deadly snakes fought ferociously on a Singapore street, leaving passers-by stunned.
The reptiles had made their way into the city from the dense jungle surrounding the concrete jungle.
The python appeared to have the better of the early exchanges and managed to get its rival into a potentially deadly head lock.
Abhishek Ambede told Channel NewsAsia that at one point in the 30 minute fight, the python “had constricted around the cobra’s head”. Dozens of people gathered round to watch the astonishing sight near a college campus.
However, the cobra - estimated to be around 10 to 12 feet in length - “escaped to the bushes”. But not before it had delivered a blow of its own - biting its rival and injecting it with poison.
Both snakes were captured by authorities - the python was caught on the street, while the cobra was found a few hours later.

The python was released back into the wild, although its chances of survival were thought to be “very low”. The cobra was taken to a zoo.
Pythons are common in Singapore, while cobras are very rare and usually stay in the jungle.
