5th MAY 2015 - THREAT ON LIFE OF PRIME MINISTER INDIA _ NARENDRA MODI FROM AL QAEDA -ASIM UMAR

War on against Muslims through Narendra Modi's words, Charlie Hebdo's writings, claims al-Qaeda

New Delhi: Terror outfit al-Qaeda's India wing has named Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a video message. Al-Qaeda's India wing chief Asim Umar mentioned said that there is a war going on against Muslims through World Bank and IMF policies, drone attacks, Charlie Hebdo's writings and Narendra Modi's utterances.
Intelligence agencies are looking into the matter but they do not see it as a threat. The authenticity of video titled 'From France to Bangladesh: The Dust Will Never Settle Down', has not been established so far.
Al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) has also claimed responsibility for the murder of an American blogger Avijit Roy in Bangladesh as well as other "blasphemers" there and in Pakistan, according to SITE Intelligence Group in the US.
Roy, a prominent writer and secular activist, was hacked to death by two assailants with machetes on the streets of Dhaka in February as he returned from a book fair with his wife.
"Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) leader Asim Umar claimed credit for the murder of American citizen Avijit Roy in Bangladesh as well as other "blasphemers" there and in Pakistan, according to SITE, a US website that monitors extremist groups.
Umar's claim of responsibility for the deadly attack was reported to have been posted in a video posted on jihadist fora on May 2. He also claimed the murders of other "blasphemers".
"Like the companions of the Prophet who defended him with their lives," Umar was quoted as having said in a statement that was released online yesterday, "The mujahideen of al-Qaeda have dispatched to hell many who blasphemed against God, and insulted the Prophet."
Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri announced the creation of AQIS and introduced Asim Umar as its leader in a video posted online in September 2014. The wing was announced when the terror group said Myanmar, Bangladesh and Assam were some of the key areas of operation.

The al Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) in a video message posted by its media publicity wing As-Sahab productions has mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name for the first time.
In the May 2 video titled ‘From France to Bangladesh: The Dust Will Never Settle Down’, AQIS chief Asim Umar mentioned the PM when he says that there is a war going on against Muslims “through World Bank and IMF policies, drone attacks, Charlie Hebdo’s writings, UN charter, official sermons by muftis and Narendra Modi’s utterances.”
Indian intelligence officials said the report is being analysed.
The group also claimed responsibility for the death of four Bangladeshi bloggers, including that of Avijit Roy, a Bangladesh-born American writer who was hacked to death by two machete-wielding assailants in Dhaka on February 27.
A professed atheist, Roy posted articles profusely in his popular blog Mukto-Mona (Free Mind).
The other Bangladeshi bloggers whose deaths the group has claimed responsibility for are Oyasiqur Rahman Babu, Rajib Haider and AKM Shafiul Islam, who taught at Rajshahi University.
“The killing mission started in Pakistan with the murder of the secular Dr Shakeel Auj and blogger Aneeqa Naz,” Umar says.
The formation of AQIS was announced last year by al Qaeda chief Ayman al Zawahiri where he mentioned Burma, Bangladesh and Assam as some of the key areas of operation of the new group headed by Asim Umar.
While some media reports have said that Umar is possibly of north Indian origin and migrated to Pakistan in the nineties, Indian intelligence agencies say there is nothing to substantiate the claim.
